With more than 30 years in the financial services industry, Russell’s clients appreciate his expertise, integrity, leadership abilities, commitment to excellence and dedication to making a difference in their lives. He specializes in providing comprehensive advice to high-net-worth individuals – helping business owners, professionals, pre-retirees and retirees manage their wealth, solve financial problems and identify new opportunities.

Russell is an active member of the Canadian Institute of Financial Planners (CIFP) and the Financial Advisors Association of Canada(ADVOCIS), a Certified Financial Professinal (CFP®). Twice in recent years, his branch has been honoured as the IPC Branch of the Year. His past experience includes roles as branch manager for a national trust company, special guest speaker, trainer, and financial and retirement course facilitator for the Edmonton Public School Board’s continuing education program. Reflecting on his successes to date, Russell was selected to be the financial planner for approximately 1,000 head office staff of an international organization.

In the community, Russell is a proud supporter of many charitable organizations, with a special affinity for the  Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Edmonton-based Kid’s Kottage Foundation, which support families in crisis.

Joining the Elford Team in September 2020, Karlyn brings a fresh, new perspective. With a background in collegiate sport, a degree in Kinesiology and four years of student services support work at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law, she has proven dedication, attention to detail and a solid work ethic.

As one of Russ's assistants, Karlyn is responsible for coordinating, booking and preparing client meetings, learning all aspects of day-to-day operations and ensuring an excellent client experience in all aspects of the business.

Karlyn completed both the Canadian Securities Course and Wealth Management Essentials from The Canadian Securities Institute. She's currently working toward completing her Certified Financial Planning designation requirements and joining the team in a greater capacity.

Stefano Francescut is a highly regarded CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional with Investment Planning Counsel in Sherwood Park. Stefano utilizes his Personal Wealth Management Strategy to develop customized financial plans that integrate investments, risk management, tax minimization, retirement planning and estate planning for a clientele of business owners, retirees, and families committed to having a better financial future.

Stefano works diligently to help his clients gain command of their wealth management objectives through a sound and balanced program of gathering information, identifying goals, setting a course, implementing solutions and monitoring progress.

Eminently qualified to find the best solution for each of his client’s unique financial needs, Stefano dedicates his practice to helping his clients create certainty and peace of mind. He has shared his knowledge through seminars for both public and corporate clients on the subjects of wealth management and financial planning and has been featured on the Team 1260 radio as well as Shaw TV. He holds membership in the Canadian Institute of Financial Planning and the Financial Planners Standards Council and has been honored with membership in the President’s Council in 2001.

Committed to giving back to his community, Stefano is a director of two scholarship foundations, volunteers his time at both High School and Jr. Football levels, and is a sponsor of the “Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada”. He and his wife, Bobbi, have two sons, Simon and Marcus, and make their home in Sherwood Park, where he enjoys golfing, football, and outdoor activities.

Barbara is responsible for helping all clients with their administrative questions and requirements and has been an integral part or our professional team since 1999. She works hard to ensure that every client receives the highest level of care when it comes to their account changes, investment purchases, and all other services we provide.

In keeping with our dedication to providing our clients with the best service possible, Barbara has completed numerous courses on client service and attends financial planning seminars in order to understand the issues you face. Clients appreciate her enthusiasm and dedication to providing exceptional service at all times. 

Ayo is a CIM®-designated finance professional with over five years of experience in investments, credit, and financial advising. With a background in engineering and banking, she brings a well-rounded, analytical approach to wealth management, helping clients navigate their financial journeys through strategic planning and personalized support.

In her role with IPC, Ayo works closely with Russ to deliver portfolio reviews, client communications, and seamless account management, ensuring a consistently high standard of service. She is recognized for her strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to building lasting client relationships through clear communication and thoughtful advice.

Beyond her professional work, Ayo is passionate about mentorship, actively guiding university students in academic support, career development, and financial literacy. She is dedicated to empowering individuals to make informed financial decisions.

Halle joined the Russ Elford Team in July 2021. As Russ’s executive assistant and client service specialist, Halle is responsible for coordinating, booking and preparing client meetings, as well as ensuring an excellent client experience in all aspects of the business. She keeps the office running smoothly by providing support to both Russ and Karlyn as needed.
